Satish Gujral was born in Jhelum, Punjab, in 1925. He joined the Mayo School of Art in Lahore in 1939. In 1944 he joined the JJ School of Art in Bombay where he came into contact with the Progressive Artists Group. Gujral served as an apprentice of Mexican Masters Diego Reviera and David Alfaro Sequiros in the early fifties. His works cover almost all mediums that fall under the umbrella of Plastic Art, Graphics, Paintings, Sculpture Murals, Object Design and Architecture.
