DESCRIPTION
Jagdish Swaminathan born in Shimla, was an influential Indian artist celebrated for his distinctive use of geometric forms and simplicity in his works. Swaminathan studied art at the Delhi Polytechnic and later in Poland. Initially a member of the Communist Party of India, he worked as a journalist and art critic before dedicating himself fully to art in the late 1950s. He founded "Group 1890" in 1962, which held its only exhibition in 1963. This artwork features Swaminathan's focus on geometric forms.
