DESCRIPTION
Sudhir Khastgir was born in Bangladesh in 1907. He did his schooling in Kolkata from Viswa Bharati University Santiniketan. In 1929, he studied under artist Nandalal Bose and later Abanindranath Tagore. He was also an important member of the Bengal School. Some of his signature works depict Indian mythologies, women, and village life. His expertise lay in watercolours, oils, and sculptures.
