DESCRIPTION
Mrinal Kanti Das, born on July 1, 1928, in Midnapore, West Bengal, was a prominent figure in the Neo-Indian School art movement founded by Abanindranath Tagore. Educated at the Government College of Art and Craft in Kolkata, where he graduated in 1948, Das primarily worked with gouache and watercolours. This work features Ramakrishna Paramahansa as the central figure in a meditative pose. The scene is accentuated by a luminescent glow, exuding a sense of calm and devotion. This artwork is a significant representation of his oeuvre, capturing both spiritual depth and narrative through his skilled technique.
