Catalog Notes

Viewers sometimes want to know if I am satisfied with the end product. Frankly speaking, the answer is often no. Recurrence of concept is a handicap, but my joy in work is indestructible. Pain in the process of creativity can turn into inexpressible joy."-Somnath Hore.

This hand-colored print on paper dated 1996 is a product of Hore’s observations of the injuries of the famine, the inhumanity of battle, and the horrors of the communal riots of 1946- all of which had been inscribing themselves into his drawing.
