Sunayani Devi was an Indian painter born into the Tagore family. She started painting at the age of 30 after being inspired by the Tagore brothers. Her works were influenced by Indian mythology and her life in a Bengali household. She is celebrated as the first woman modern artist to champion rural and folk art.
