Jacquards with Banaras punch cards became popular from 1920 onwards and Yeola was the main center for such fusion Paithani sarees where handwoven and jacquard assisted motifs added another dimension of richness to typical coconut border paithanis. Saree weaved without butti indicated that either it was economic selection or saree for elderly women.
